Oral Presentation / Symposium Guidelines

  • The duration of your talk must be 15 Minutes, with 13 minutes for your presentation and 2 minutes for questions and answers.

  • Please adhere to the time limit for your presentation to ensure that the programme runs according to schedule.

  • PowerPoint and pdf presentations are acceptable. Should you be using another slide format, please let us know in advance so that we can check compatibility with our technical team.

  • Please upload your presentation at the presentation desk at the venue at least one day in advance of your talk.

  • Please label your file as: ATBC_OP_YourFirstName_AbstractNumber i.e: ATBC_OP_RAHUL_A011 PPT slides sizes should all be 16:9 aspect ratio, with a resolution of 1920 x 1080 dpi. Check-in with the technicians at the technical desk in the venue at least 30 minutes prior to the start of your session.

  • Special note about videos: If you plan to play a video or DVD as part of your presentation, please notify us in advance so that we can check the quality and link in your presentation.

  • When building your presentation, make sure that you save any external files linked within your presentation.

  • When creating your media for transportation, copy the entire folder to the disk.

  • Bring a backup copy of your presentation on a USB flash drive with you.

  • Presenters will not be allowed to use their own laptops.


For movies:

  • Movies in PowerPoint: Using the WMV format is the safest way to ensure that movies are embedded in PowerPoint i.e. it becomes part of the PowerPoint file. PowerPoint references most other video formats i.e. it remains an external file.

  • It is imperative that you check your movies with the technician at the venue during the break prior to your presentation.

  • While the technical team try to support as many PC video formats as possible, they can only accept movies under the following conditions: Please take steps to compress your videos. Uncompressed videos will take longer to upload and will not be better quality than a modern MPEG-4 codec. We can only accept movies created as MPGs, WMVs, or with the following AVIcodecs:MPEG-4 (Divx, Xvid, or WMVs).


For apple quick time:

  • Formats such as MOV, QT, or DV files are NOT supported in Windows Power Point. Options to convert these movies to a Windows compatible AVI are discussed below in.


For mac users:

  • All presentations will be run from Microsoft Windows machines and the following needs to be considered:

  • All presentations created on Mac’s need to be saved in PPTX format or alternatively PDF Format.

  • Do not make use of special Font’s or Transitions in your presentations as this will not work


 

On Demand/Virtual Presenter Guidelines:

  • Recordings: Self-recorded either using zoom or PowerPoint.

  • Format: MP4 recommended (720p/1080p HD)

  • Please switch on your laptop camera while recording.

  • Please pay attention to your background, a plain neutral-coloured background is encouraged instead of virtual background.

  • Please check the sound intensity, echos and background noise while recording.

  • Please check your lighting.

  • During the day, place your laptop in such a manner that you are facing a window.

  • All these guidelines and points may be applicable to symposium presentations, although concerned symposium coordinator will have specific briefing during the session.

Send your video!

  • Step 1: Prepare your presentation as per the guidelines mentioned above.

  • Step 2: Self record your presentation via Zoom or PowerPoint.

  • Step 3: Please label your file as: ATBC_OP_YourFirstName_AbstractNumber

  • Step 4: Please upload your video file by June 28 2023 at https://www.xcdsystem.com/atbc/forms/index.cfm?ID=nns208s.


Speed Talk Presentation Guidelines

  • The duration of your talk must be 5 Minutes, with 3 mins talk and 2 mins Q&A session. Please adhere to the time limit for your presentation to ensure that the programme runs according to schedule.

  • Please label your file as: ATBC_ST_YourFirstName_AbstractNumber i.e: ATBC_ST_RAHUL_A011

  • Please upload your presentation at the presentation desk at the venue at least one day in advance of your talk.

  • Please follow the oral presentation guideline for speed talk as well (except presentation duration).


Poster Presentation Guidelines

  • Poster size is 33.1-inch (84.1 cm) width, 46.8-inch (118.9 cm) height, (A0-potrait size). Oversized posters will not get displayed in the conference.

  • Use plain colours and avoid overly small font. Add graphs and figures. Empty space is essential because it provides visual pauses in which to think; a good rule of thumb is: 20% text, 60% graphics and 20% empty space. Poster will be displayed during the entire conference duration.

  • The poster should be self-explanatory and the presenters should be around their poster from 4:00 – 5:30 PM every day to maximize knowledge sharing with the participants.
